I am currently using an Intel Pentium E5700 Dual-Core cpu and I tried upgrading to an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 but my computer would not boot. I was told that my motherboard might have an upgrade lock. Any feedback would be appreciated.

My Specs:
Motherboard: Acer FG43D (Socket 775 LGA)
Bios version 02.64
Intel Pentium E5700 3.00Ghz
8 GB DDR3 RAM
Graphics: AMD Radeon R7 200

Solution
Unfortunately, what you're using it for is irrelevant. What it was developed/designed/supported for is what matters.

The Veriton Z410 is an all-in-one? I'd be very surprised if it supported anything much greater than the E5700.
The E5700 was a 65W CPU, with the Q9300 a 95W. There just wouldn't be the support on that board for it, as the All in One it was meant to run it, would be incapable of cooling it adequately.

Oh I see, would a quad core processor with the same 65W work if it even exists ?
