hey,

CPU: I5 6600K

Motherboard: Z170m e D3

i just upgraded my motherboard processor and ram, and my pc can't detect my Ethernet cable, but wireless connection works good. i downloaded all the drivers that was needed via the CD and also the newest one from realtek website, still nothing helped, i also tried several fixes from youtube/this site and couldn't find a fix. also the LAN is enabled on the bios, also replaced from windows 7 to windows 10 and same issue.

i used the Ethernet cable daily with my pc before but now its not working on the new motherboard.
not sure if its a problem on the motherboard [defective] or just some shit i really have no idea what to do. also both sides of the Cable [router and PC] Don't show any LED

please help if you have a fix for this thing since i kinda gave up.

Thanks for help and sorry about my English.

pretty sure the LAN Port is defective. the driver is alright, 2 cables worked great with my last pc. the pc doesn't show any led while i connect the cable to the lan port. sent a message to asus. maybe they have an answer for that.

So far, you have confirmed that your router works and the cables you used work with other computers. This leaves the issue being your Ethernet port on your motherboard.

As long as the board is under warranty Asus should replace it.

some gaming motherboards use a killer lan which reduce your lag in games , they have their own drivers and windows sometimes doesn't recognize them. if they're old windows might install the driver if it's the latest build of windows. but if it's fairly new motherboard you have to look for the "killer LAN" drivers ..
