What ram would you reccomend for a ryzen 5 build,

Depends on the motherboard. Since Ryzen works better with faster RAM I'd go for the fastest RAM the motherboard supports as long as the price is reasonable.

Gaming wise it's not a huge difference but at 1080P the difference was around 10 FPS from some of the benchmarks I've seen.
