As stated above, I'm roughing out my PC build including the listed parts. On pcpartpicker.com, when I choose the two it says this:
"Some Intel B85 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Haswell Refresh CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions."
Something I read on a different thread:
"The only thing to be careful about is the i5 4460 is a Haswell refresh and you might have to update the BIOS on older motherboards. If you check the website, it should list the which BIOS you need for each chip. You might be able to get the store to flash the BIOS if it's out of date.
edit: It looks like this may be an issue. check this thread, It looks like you might be able to flash the BIOS with a thumb drive."
What do you guys think? Is this feasible, or am I wasting my time with this combo?
