Need help with first ever PC build. Partial build okay?

Hey guys, been planning a PC build for about a month now since I am extremely bored at home without having had a PC for almost the last year. So this is going to be my build:

CPU : AMD Ryzen 5 1600 + Wraith Spire
MOBO : ASRock X370 Gaming K4
PSU : Superflower Leadex II Gold 650W
RAM : Corsair Vengeance LED 2 x 8 GB 2666 MHz
GPU : Gigabyte Aorus RX580 XTR
SSD : Samsung EVO 850 240G
HDD : WD Caviar Blue 1 TB
Case : Corsair Carbide 400C
Monitor : Viewsonic XG2401

So I actually have a few questions about this. So in order of when I would have to address these questions when I build it:
1) I will be buying these parts one by one with most of it in tomorrow maybe. Parts except for SSD,HDD,GPU. So I was wondering if it would be okay for me to partially assemble the PC with the necessary cables for the GPU and storage drives on standby. That way I could just plug them in when I get them and see if my little toy lives. Oh also would be open to any MOBO alternatives, I know the X370 is a bit pointless.

2) Should I constantly be worried about ESD while building the PC?

3) The stock coolers apparently come with pre-applied thermal paste which is great, do I have to remove a layer or something before just putting the cooler on the CPU? Or do I just plop it on? Or are they normally on the instructions?

4) When I do finally assemble everything and I need to install windows, the predicament is that I have the retail Win8 CD set and I've used it my old PC before and it couldn't support Win8 so I fresh installed Win7 again. So will I be able to use my retail Win8 code on my new build and from there upgrade to Win.8.1? Also, will I be able to do this using a USB external optical drive, would I need to have Windows installed first to install the drivers for this external drive before I can boot from it?

5) Should I create partitions on my SSD for Windows? When should i do this given that I want o upgrade from Win8 to Win8.1 to Win10? Should I leave HDD disconnected when I install Windows?

Sorry for being really ignorant about this stuff guys, but I am trying to understanding this type of stuff better. Seems really interesting. As for news on the RX Vega, I'm hoping it makes my ideal GPU a bit cheaper.

Ah, then serial isn't motherboard-bound; you'll have little trouble activating your new computer. And I thought RX 580s in Malaysia would be almost at stock prices?
1) Well, I guess you just can't see anything on-screen when you boot then. Ryzen has no integrated GPU.
2) No.
3) Just install the cooler without the worries of thermal paste.
4) You can use Windows 8 serial if it's never been activated, in which case you haven't activated your copy on your old build anyways.
5) Yes. Just press create partition on the blank SSD; it'll create other partitions for you.

Thank you for the reply, I am aware that the ryzen has no igpu and i dont plan on starting it until at least the gpu and ssd are installed. But would it make sense? Would i have to disassemble later in order to just add the HDD for example?

Also, what if I did use the serial key but I had a lot of problems so I just reinstalled windows7 on that laptop, so although i didn't formally deactivate the product, nothing is actively using it. So could I just use it on the build with no problems?

Ahh, cause I think i'd be a bit too excited to wait haha. As for the Windows, I bought it when it was first released here in Malaysia and it was a giant discount. It is the retail i believe, comes in a box with the x32 and x64 bit CDs and a cute little card with the serial key in it.

Ahh thank you so much for your help. As for the prices, that doesn't seem to be the case, it seems to be about USD380 for the gigabyte XTR, gonna wait close to literally a couple more days for the Vega announcement and see what little price difference it might provide haha. any dollar saved is a good dollar.
