My CPU is idling at 70C according to HWmonitor and I cant figure out the issue. I've tried replacing the thermal paste(arctic silver 5) and it hasnt helped. Also, when i put my hand above the radiator where the air blows out, the air temperature is cool. Can someone figure out this issue? Is there a problem with the temperature sensors? Here are my specs:
MB: MSI Z97 gaming 5
CPU: Intel 4790K
GPU: MSI GTX 980
COOLER: Corsair H100gtx

Solution

it must be the pump its not working . try shaking the pipes if that helps
and in corsair link is it showing PUMP RPM?

I tried shaking the pipes of the cooler and the temperature read about 58c at idle, but it should be under 40 at idle. Also, the pump rpm according to Corsair link is 1980 rpm.

I have decided on a noctua nh d14 for my cooler. Reviews say that it's great.
