Yesterday my pc was slow to boot and when I finally got to my windows my hard drive wasnt recognized anymore.

I have a Seagate 1TB hard drive that is less than a year old, I've changed the SATA and power cords several times. In some instances it will show up as "D: New Volume" like it used to, but my computer will freeze. The drive itself turns on when I power my pc, in windows Disk Management it shows up as "DISK 0 UNKNOWN" and gives me errors whenever I try to initialize it. The hard drive itself doesnt show up in BIOS. I'm pretty lost as to what to do.

So far, it seems like it might be a faulty cable problem, but I'm confused as to why that would make my BIOS slower at the same time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi monthus_birwa,

in those cases we recommend running SeaTools and check you drive on eventual errors. SeaTools should be able to see and test your drive even though the operating system does not!

In case the HDD might have issues, you can then check your remaining warranty HERE and contact our Customer Support with your SeaTools results. Since you mentioned the drive is less than a year old, we should be able to assist without any delays!

Thanks for choosing Seagate!
