So, recently i have been noticing that i have had 500+ ping when my brother(in the same room) has 100 and it only goes up to 114 at max, why is this happening? It used toi be the same as my brothers but now it sucks

Solution
Not enough information here to do anything with. Are you both wired? Wi-Fi? If on Wi-Fi, how many walls are between you and your router? Have you tried resetting your router? There's a lot of things that can cause ping spikes.

- Are you both using wired/wireless? Wired tends to be more stable.
- Have you updated to the latest drivers of any necessary components?
- Does your brother have higher traffic priority with your router?
- Have you ran malware/AV scans?

could be a number of things:
router setting to throttle specific home network ip address.
voip priority (router), connecting to a voip will set your computer into a higher priority if that is enabled in router
wired vs wireless ... your brother is wired and you are wireless, though this doesnt greatly affect ping unless your router is a cheap isp freebee sitting in another room.
Your computer is full of spam, your brothers is clean. stop surfing for prawn when your brother isnt looking.
you share a network connection 'through' your brothers pc .... making his the master and you get the left-overs.

you have other devices, phones and tablets .... that connect to your wireless? cause you could get ip conflict. doesnt happen often/ever with the most uptodate phones and tablets, but old phones and tablets used to plague wireless nets with ip conflict (years ago) requiring router resets/restarts.

1) go to network settings on your pc, click on the manage known networks, then delete the network.
2)Turn off your router, wait for a minute. turn it back on.
3) Connect with the network from your pc.
See if this fixes the issue.
