Hey guys!

I am having an issue with my Gigabyte Z97-SLI. Every time i power on, it gives the "PSU failure" code and refuses to boot. I've breadboarded the motherboard and also hooked up the PSU to a spare board I have. The PSU works on the second board but not the first.

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix?

Edit: All fans turn on, card fans spin, hard disk moves and mobo lights flash on power up. Then CPU fan turns off, mobo lights turn off, and it gives the beep code.

Thanks!

Ok, so since you know the PSU works with other boards and the connections are solid and since you’ve tried moving hardware around and and even breadboarded it I would say the issue has to be with the motherboard.

Check the board for bulging capacitors or oozing brown sludge from capacitors. Check for broken or fried solder points on the power connectors.
