my internet speed is good but i lag alot in game

my Internet speed is fine i can search things online fast and fine i get 30 ping on discord when talking to friends no one is home when im doing this but right when i launch a game i get ping from 600 to over 1000 and i have no idea what to do iv tried everything

Network speed is not the problem, as his ping times are fine to Discord. This suggests the problem is specific to the game in question, which is why ITmechanic asked what he did.

Instead of ping, try a traceroute (tracert in Windows). It's like ping, but it'll give you a min/max/avg ping time to every network hop between you and the destination IP address. This can help you narrow down if the problem is localized to your network, or is happening further upstream with your ISP's connection to the Internet (or their backbone's connection, or the game server's ISP, or the server's ISP's backbone).

whenever i run tracert it just closes as fast as it opend

Sorry, I assumed everyone runs ping in a command prompt, instead of using one of the many available ping apps.

Open a command prompt first. Hit the Windows key and type

cmd

Then inside the command prompt, type

tracert 1.2.3.4

where 1.2.3.4 is the IP address of the game server.
