I recently got my hands on a new graphics since my friend does not need it anymore since he has upgraded but once we put the graphics card in one of my 6 pin PSU cable fit in but I have other cables but the rest are 4 pin and they don't fit into the 8 pin port on the graphics card. Do I need to get some sort of converter for my 4 pin to 8 pin.
My PSU (RK-P650) cables don't fit my GPU (GeForce GTX 970

I can't find any info on your PSU, that tells me it's definitely extremely low quality. You should get a PSU to accomodate the GPU. Most likely a good 450W PSU will be fine, but to know for sure we need your full specs and overclocking plans.
