My uncle wants me to format his old windows XP pc. He never format that pc 15 years now (!!!) and he doesn't want to by a new one cause he already has a new laptop and wants that pc just for his kids to play. The problem is that he is sure that he hasn't the cd-rom with the windows XP so I'm trying to find the i386 folder inside C. I can't find it anywhere. Not even the search utility give me any results. The machine has windows XP sp3, intel Pentium 4 (2 Ghz) processor and 1 Gb ddr ram (of it matters)

If there is no way to find the i386 folder then how do I format that pc and reinstall Windows XP?

Thanks in advance!

"Windows XP In Windows Explorer, choose Tools > Folder Options.
Click the View tab in the Folder Options dialog box.
In Advanced Settings, select Show Hidden Files and Folders.
Deselect Hide Extensions for Known File Types.
Click OK."
the folder may be hidden

Just get a dell windows xp cd from ebay. That way you can install xp and the setup will format the hdd. These usually are only a couple of dollars including shipping.
