Powerline vs USB WiFi adapter?

So I just moved and unfortunately I'm not able to connect my PC via ethernet anymore. I'm going to get one of these, but I wanted to know what is the better option in my case?

My PC is about 20 ft away from my router, my room is across the hallway from the room where the router is in. It's a Wireless-N that was provided by my ISP. I downloaded the WiFi analyzer app and there isn't any interference from other networks, and only two walls for the signal to travel through. I have a lousy 20mbps connection since that's the base speed package here, but I am considering upgrading to 40mbps.

As for my house's electric, I don't think powerline would have an issue here. The house was built in the '80s and these two rooms should be on the same circuit. But I keep seeing reviews that say they can get super hot and even trip breakers, so I'm a bit hesitant.

As I understand it powerline will give me the lowest ping/latency in games, but does its bandwidth speeds compare to WiFi? And in my case, is it really worth it to go for powerline? Since I have such low internet speeds, I'm so close to the router and there's no interference from other WiFi networks in my house.

Thanks!

WiFi is not a constant signal, the speeds will fluctuate a lot. Powerline is always better than WiFi, so I'd go with that.
Let me warn you for something though... Do NOT get a powerline adapter from TP link! They've got a lot of problems regarding random upairs and disconnects, TP link does nothing to fix this. These adapters will also go into power saving mode when your network activity is low, which happens with some games. I've got powerline adapters from TP link and these problems are so annoying, especially when in game. Invest in good powerline adapter, with a higher bandwith than you have, in case you upgrade.

That's unfortunate, my top pick right now is from TP-Link. :/

I've been doing a bit of research and learned that not only should you go for a higher bandwidth model to futureproof yourself, but the higher bandwidth models are newer and use newer tech compared to the older powerline adapters, which means they should be more reliable. This particular model is at a great price for having 1200mbps, 3 ports and passthrough. The reviews for it on other sites (since Amazon bundles a lot of product reviews together) are great and I can't seem to find any mention of what you described happening to this particular product.
