Ryzen 5 1600 with A320 or Ryzen 5 1500X with B350? And RAM compatibility

Hello community,

Im thinking upgrading my desktop with new and improved components. Here is the current stuff i will keep, because of low budget:

THERMALTAKE V4 BLACK EDITION
MSI GEFORCE GTX 1050 TI 4GT OC 4GB GD5
XFX PRO 550W CORE EDITION

And here is the new components i want to buy

Western Digital Blue 1TB 7200RPM 64MB SATA III
G.SKILL Ripjaws V 8GB (2x4GB) DDR4-2400MHz CL15

And my concern right know is what combo to buy of CPU+MB

AMD Ryzen 5 1500X Quad-Core 3.5GHz w/ Turbo 3.7GHz 16MB SktAM4
MSI B350M BAZOOKA
or
AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Hexa-Core 3.2GHz w/ Turbo 3.6GHz 16MB SktAM4
MSI A320M GRENADE

With A320 i can't do overclock on 1600, so is it worth the combo? Or should i go with 1500X + B350 so i can do overclock?
Im not a good expert on overclock, but since 1600 is only 3.2GHz, in your opinion is good enough for 2-3 year of gaming? Or i should go for the 3.5GHz of 1500X?

Regarding RAMs, both motherboards (in this case A320 GRENADE and B350 BAZOOKA) don't mention 2800MHz RAMs as allowed, but can anyone with these types of MBs can say if i can put something like G.SKILL Ripjaws V 8GB (2x4GB) DDR4-2800MHz CL15 on these MBs? if yes, its just 1€ more so its worth the money, since i cant go to 3200MHz right? Or i can just overclock in B350 and A320 the 2400MHz RAMs to 2800 or even 3200?

Thanks in advance

Solution
^ everyone has a bottleneck of some form or other - its impossible to avoid.

Is the 1050ti going to be the limiter in your system ?? Yes definitely but its a non-issue.

You can always alter graphics settings or resolution to alleviate this if fps is not as high as you'd like

A CPU bottleneck is a much worse scenario , simply because there's nothing you can do apart from change the CPU itself.

Stick with the 1600 & you have a CPU that will last IMO 5 years+.

What country / web store are you actually buying from ??

B350 with ryzen 5 1600

There's no reason to get an A320 board, they are barely cheaper than B350 boards but they can't OC

And there's nothing wrong with running a CPU at stock speeds but if AMD sells you overclockeable chips for very cheap you should take advantage of it.

Not, tbh a 1050 ti is a pretty basic GPU it will be fine with an R5 1400 or even an R3 1200, though the R5 1600 is a better all-around CPU and it would be great if you bought it.

I can't recommend any X cpus currently, they almost overclock the same X cpus are just faster out of the box but being able to buy a 6-core for $20 more you'll be better off with any non-X cpu and overclock it for your own

As for RAM, the gskill flare X is the most recommended since it's been proved to run at 3200mhz or even more on the majority of the systems

You guys are missing his budget constraints

I'm sure if he could afford a 1600+b350 he wouldn't have even made a thread asking this ??

A 1600+b350 would obviously be the preferred choice.

Some places a320 boards are some $30 cheaper.

If it has to be an absolute decision between those 2 choices then the a320+ryzen 1600 (the 1600 can boost to 3.7GHz on 3 cores) - its 50% more physical CPU for about 15% more money.

Well yes of course not everyone can drop the extra $20-30 so easily

but IT IS REALLY worth it. You can't be that mean when the R5 1600 is cheap and price-to performance is a better option.

People make a lot of mistakes because they are mean, I'm young and when I was planning to buy my gaming PC I wanted to spend about $400 or so but I ended up with a $600-650 PC and I'm glad with it. Now I leave in a country which establishes 4 dollars as the minimum wage, people on other parts of the world don't have that problem for sure

Either you do cutbacks on other parts or you get more money somewhere because people don't realize that it can make a difference in the long-therm. Also there is always something you don't take into consideration and you have to pay a little more.

It goes without saying he has the final decision, I'm just giving him my advise and I even said if he is on very restricted budget the R3s and R5s aren't all that bad

because of dual channel I think, the real speed is 3200mhz

I also have CPU-Z and it reports 800mhz, but I know I'm using DDR3-1600 RAM

SENOR BURTOS - im not arguing with you , I'm agreeing.

I'm just saying for instance if the guy has $250 to spend & not a single $1 more

Ryzen 1500x - $170
B350 board - $80

Or

Ryzen 1600 - $190
A320 board - $60

If it has to be a choice then the 1600+a320 is the better option full stop.

The 1600 is strong enough at stock speed to run a 1050ti easily & 2-3 years down the line it will be a much much stronger CPU than the 1500x.

As long as the a320 board has the required number of USB & sata ports that the op wants then all you lose is the ability to overclock (which isn't necessary anyway)

Scout_03 - you have some auto overclock setting on somewhere , a 3120mhzmhz ram speed is not native & is impossible without a blck/fsb overclock.

you sure your ram is not showing 1599.6 (which would be 3200)

1559.6 equates to 3120mhz which is not a native speed, some (most of the MSI boards) will alter blck/fsb automatically when using automatic ram speeds to push the few extra mhz.

Either way its not something I would worry about.

thanks for understanding my issue. today im thinking this way, lets see tomorrow xD
but if i choose the combo 1600 +b350, which b350 should i buy. i have in mind the msi b350 bazooka, because of the usb slots and is 90€, usually the average b350 could be 100€, but if anyone has a suggestion let me know.

edit:
do you think i will have bootleneck with this combination of b350 ryzen 5 1600 and gtx 1050ti?
