So this is ther setup

XXqEyQa.png

Distance of little over 35 meters (100ft)

What I need is to have wifi on my buddy's house, theyll mostly be using it with their phones so no pc/laptop will be connected on their end.

I was thinking: buy router -> connect router to long ethernet cable -> get wifi // but Im not sure if that will work or if I need additional hardware.
I also am not sure how to configure the router initially, should this solution work.

Solution
All you need to do is place a AP or a router running as a AP in the remote house.

Your largest issue I suspect will be figuring out how to get the ethernet cable run. You can not bury normal indoor ethernet you need some conduit or you must use ethernet designed for direct bury.

In general sharing a internet connection is risky, even sharing with family members is not always safe. Who ever has their name on the contract will be first in line when the ISP comes to find who is doing bad stuff.
