Hi,
I need to have 12 or 14 systems with an Core i7 CPU running into the same rack and because of this I am thinking about creating a blade.
Blade vendors does not have blades based on Core i7 but only on Xeons, so I am thinking about assembling a custom blade.
I don't need special features: 1 x i7-7700K, 32 Gb RAM, 1 x 120 Gb SSD M.2, 2 x Gigabit interfaces and 1 x IPMI interface.

The main problem is the case. I found some "blade" cases (6 or 9 Mini-ITX motherboards, http://www.buildablade.com/) but it's too much expensive.
I also found a twin Mini-ITX 1U case (https://www.xcase.co.uk/collections/blade-server-chassis/products/1u-mini-itx-blade-twin-system-chassis-x-case-ki-m550), but I didn't find any case for more than 2 motherboards.

Can you help me to find the necessary components please?

Thank you very much!
Bye

Solution
Put bare motherboards on wooden shelves. That will be the cheapest option. IPMI is not a typical desktop feature, so you will end up having Xeon compatible motherboards anyway.
