I'm looking to build my first pc and am on a tight budget (am only 14). I was looking to build a system with an APU in It. the specs:

CPU: AMD - A10-7860k
MOBO: ASRock - FM2A68M-HD+ Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard
RAM: Corsair - Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
STORAGE: an WD 1tb hard drive I own
CASE: A semi decent case with 500 w PSU included
Cost= $360 AUD

is the FM2+ socket still a viable option?. I am only looking to play E sport titles and maybe some gta 5. I don't mind having to turn down settings.

FM2 has never been a good option if you want to play games, but some situations made it better than others. Nowadays, though, it's just really outdated. If you can't afford to build with maybe ryzen 3 and an RX 460, then I would look towards buying used parts before investing in FM2 in all honesty. It might be able to play esports titles somewhat adequately and barely get by with GTA V, but there's no upgrade path and if you ever want more performance you'll basically have to build a whole new computer again. It's best to just do it right the first time if you can.

I would move to a newer platform that isn't dead. You will be spending a bit more but at least you can run the games then instead of running them below 30 fps.
