Hello, unsure if I'm posting this in the correct sub-forum but I've been looking to upgrade my CPU and to do that, I'm also willing to change my motherboard, I've had a look at different things out there and have found out an Intel i5-7600k for my CPU and MSI Intel Z270 for my motherboard.

I'm asking today to find out if all of this will fit my current specs like my Graphics card, and my cooler for the i5, when buying the new motherboard, I've also had to get DDR4 RAM.

Here's what I'm getting:

CPU: Intel Core i5-7600K 3.8 GHz QuadCore
Motherboard: MSI Intel Z270
RAM: Corsair CMK8GX4M1A2400C14 8 GB Vengeance LPX DDR4 Memory Module

And here are my current specs which I hope will fit the new parts I'm getting:
Current Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. F2A78M-HD2
Current Graphics card: AMD Radeon R9 380 Series (Sapphire/PCPartner)
Current CPU: AMD A8-6600K
Current RAM: DDR3 (Not sure the exact name of the producer etc)

As stated previously, I believe these parts will fit but I do not know that much about building PC's so I would love to be assured on this, by the parts fitting, I mainly mean the Graphics card and the RAM in the new motherboard, if you guys need anymore information, let me know and I'll provide it.

Thank you!

Solution
Looks like an old cooler master mate , not sure of model

Its full atx though without a doubt

So yes these components I listed will fit no issue at all
Your new components are fine , really the only component you'll re-use would be that r9 380 graphics card.

There are 2 issues though with the new components

1. The 7600k does not come with a CPU cooler , you need to purchase a seperate one

2. You've not listed your case / cabinet model??
If its an matx case the new motherboard will not fit.

If the ryzen 1500x & 1600 chips are available where you are they will very likely be a better (& cheaper ) choice.

As I said (& I know this isn't really a build thread but I can't help myself)your components come to £425 & you still need to add £25-30 for a cooler so call it £450.

You can do a ryzen 1600 with 16gb ram for £50-60 less

Hello, thank you for your answers and sorry for my late reply on here.

@madmatt30 I was unfortunately unable to find my case manufacturer nor anything about them on the case, inside, on the bottom or behind, etc. So I can't provide you with that.
I also have a cooler that I use right now which is the "Hyper 212 Evo Air" which I'm unsure will fit on the i5 I'm planning to get.

I am able to also buy a mid tower case if I would need it, not that much of a big deal.

@madmatt30 Your PC build for me looks really good, comparing the CPU to the i5 it is a lot more efficient and I might actually get that as it is cheaper and seems to be a lot better, thank you very much for that! My only question is, with that build you sent, would I need to get a new PC case or would it fit my current one which seems to be the "M-ATX"?

Thank you guys for the answers!

A 212 evo would be compatible with Intel IF you have the extra parts that came in the box originally.

The ryzen build I listed would honestly not require the 212 evo , the stock ryzen cooler is very very good.

You can/use the evo on ryzen but need to order an am4 bracket which is £3-4.

Re case - can you take a photo on yournphone & upload it ??
A Google drive or Google photos link will do or just upload to www.postimage.io & paste a link here.

If it is matx then there are plenty of good ryzen b350 boards that are matx format anyway.

& yes you should consider the ryzen , its just a better buy.

Hey again.

Here's some of the pictures of my case I just took: http://postimg.org/gallery/1tiaypkka/1a61c27f/ , tried to make it best quality but phone was acting up, if you need confirmation on anything, tell me. If all goes well, I'll purchase what you suggested, thanks again!
