About a year ago i built my first PC using a Gigabyte Z97-P3 and up until a few weeks ago its been fine, until one day i turned it on and got a complete cold boot, black screen no responce etc. Took it to a tech who basicly charged me £60 to agree with me that my mobo was shot (yes i know i got played)
Now, initialy i thought i could just talk to the manufacurer and figure out if it was still under a warrenty if it had one, after a few days of being passed from email to email and eventually to amazon where i purchased the board who aswell could not help me, i decided to just go with replacing the motherboard.
Again, this is where we hit another snag...
My cpu is a intel i5 4690k which is compatable with the 1150 socket if i am correct, however i cant seem to find a 1150 compatable mobo in stock that isnt a cheapo or the same one that failed on me, nearly all of them by the same company Gigabyte whos products i dont really want to use anymore incase it isnt just my board that was faulty.
Can anyone help me find a reasonably priced, 1150 socket motherboard suitable for gaming, that is still avalible today, as i have had no luck finding anything?

Bonus question: My software was win 7 oem when i bought it, i later upgraded to win10 for free when microsoft let you, i read that oem copys of windows cant be switched between motherboards, since i upgraded to 10 would that rule still apply, and is their anyway i caj go about it so i dont have to buy another os, which would end up being more expensive as i persobally prefer win10.
