So, recently, I started to get a computer built and after a week of waiting the guy finished it and I picked it up. It ran great, silky smooth on internet browsing, but when I went to play a game the FPS was extremely bad worse than my old computer. I figured it was a defective card after calling the repair guy be cause the graphics card was the only remnant from my old computer. So, I bought a higher end graphics card than before and had him install it. He put it in, set up the computer at the shop and had me play a game on it. Best FPS I ever had, it was great. I felt like my problem was solved, but when I plugged in at home, the extreme low fps was still there. I'm seriously at a loss. How could it work well at the shop, but not at my house? I've tried switching the monitors and that made it go a little faster but not much.
I have a 1060 gtx graphics card as well, but its not what is causing it.

Solution
When plugged in home, confirm your monitor is plugged into the new GPU (HDMI, Display Port, or DVI) and not into the integrated graphics port of the mainboard?

Check if it's some kind of heating problem, maybe when you were moving it, some cable moved outta place and obstructed a fan, resulting in temperature increase. Download a temperature monitor and check if it's the issue, apart from opening it up and checking if there isn't any visible physical damage. Running the disc defragmentation and some program like CCleaner isn't a bad idea as well.
