I've got Intel Core i5-7600K 3.8GHz 6MB as a CPU its a kaby-lake and my motherboard is msi z170a m5 and it only support skylake cpu so i search about this problem and i found the solution to make this cpu and motherboard to work. so the solution is to get a new cpu compatible to the motherboard and try to update the bios of the motherboard i want to ask if i can update the bios of msi z170a m5 using a cheap cpu like Intel - Celeron G3900 2.8GHz Dual-Core OEM/Tray Processor. and can you please tell me if it is compatible to the motherboard. cause i'm planning to use this cpu just to update the bios and then use the kaby lake cpu as my main cpu. do you think it will work. i hope you can help me, thanks

Solution
Yes, it should work fine.

Is it too late to return the motherboard? Even with a restocking fee it seems like less of a hit to return it for a Z270 motherboard than to get a $42 CPU.
