I have an asrock z170-x1/3.1 motherboard. I just upgraded from a 6600k to a 7700k as well as updated my BIOS to the latest kaby lake supported version. Everything is going smoothly, but my gtx 1080 is no longer being detected, I have 2 monitors, one on HDMI the other on display port, both connected to the GPU. The display port monitor is not detecting a signal but the HDMI is. I also cannot access any of my Nvidia settings because the signal is not going through the GPU. Also at 800x600 resolution.

Should the first step be to reinstalled my GPU drivers?

Solution
Completely nuke your Nvidia drivers with a tool like CCleaner and reinstall like you would with a fresh OS install. Do not simply uninstall through like GeForce Experience or Windows uninstaller. You need to remove all remnants of Nvidia drivers from the registry. Something may have corrupted the video drivers in the BIOS update process. Rare, but not unheard of.

Reinstalling did the trick. Thanks!
