Hi! Here's my current situation:

A few days ago I had a power outage on my neighborhood and somehow my old PSU died (with this 500W PSU I had no problems at all). A friend of mine gave me one of his to help me while i got a replacement (Sentey ERP 600SS). Ever since I have this PSU my computer is black screening every time 2 minutes after I open a game (WoW, Overwatch, Sniper Elite 4, Prey, etc) with no exception. I came to the conclussion that maybe this PSU is not giving enough power to my GPU or its simply just too old. I found it odd because my old 500W PSU had no problems and this PSU is in theory more powerful yet its giving me all this trouble.

I'm planning on getting this PSU: XfX Pro series 850W+ http://www.xfxforce.com/en-us/products/pro-series/pro-series-850w-psu-core-edition-p1-850s-nlb9
So here are my questions:

Will this PSU be able to handle my evga 970 ssc?
Is it a decent PSU to buy for future upgrades (sli)?

Thanks in advance!

Solution
XFX pro 850w will work but it is way too much for a single gtx970.
If you can find XFX pro between 500-600W and if this is cheaper than the 850W, I would go for the cheaper.
For a single gtx970 even a good quality 450W should be already enough.
I would go with around 500-550W to add some breathing room for future upgrades.

When I click that link nothing comes up but oh well.
The Sentey PSU isn't very good quality and could of been dead/dying.
For a new PSU upgrade go for a Seasonic, Corsair, or EVGA PSU. For 1 card id recommend 500 watt like you had. For a future SLI system you will obviously need to up the wattage to something like 750w on the low side to 850w.

Thanks for the quick response! I updated the link, I made a mistake oops..

I looked at sentey database and yeah.. the PSU is like 10 years old so I think an upgrade is due.

The PSU im looking forward to get is the XfX pro series 850W+ I think that would work
