Headphones suddenly stopped working?

So I'm watching a video on Youtube, everything is fine, then the audio suddenly stops. At first I thought it was just the video, but then it randomly came back, then when quiet again after a few seconds. I reloaded the page, again thinking it was an issue with the video, but now audio wouldn't play at all. I tried unplugging and plugging in the headphones again, nothing. I tried using them on my phone, which partially worked, but only one side of the headphones would play audio. What just happened? I doubt it's a driver issue, everything was working perfectly fine a few minutes ago. How do I fix this?

EDIT: It seems they still do play audio through my PC, but only through one side and extremely quietly to the point where I have to be perfectly still to even hear it.

Sounds like the cable might be damaged. Have you tried wiggling the wire near where the plug is in? If it is damaged, the sound should cut in and out in one or both sides of your headphones. If that is the cause, you will need to cut the cable about 2cm or so above the plug and resolder another plug onto it. That or you return them/throw them out.

Wiggling the wire like that didn't seem to have any effect on the sound.
