a cpu for geforce GTX 1080 TI

I do own Intel 3770K right now, I know its outdated, but is it worth buying 7700k to pair with the card, or should I just stay with 3770K? If possible which RAM card should I buy (currently DDR3 Kingston HyperX Predator 8GB (2x4GB) 1866MHz CL9 1.65V).
I am using my PC for projector gaming which is limited @ 4k 30hz ultra settings and watching 4k 24fps movies.

4k 30 Hz max (I am limited by my projector, mainly playing latest games(no streaming) that look good projected and watching 4k 30hz movies). Is 1080 Ti a bit waste of money for me?
