Sound only coming from headphones even though I have working speakers?

So i just bought the BOOM GO speaker. I cannot hear sound from it, but when I plug my headphones in to the headphone jack on my PC, i can hear sounds from them. Nothing seems to be working!
I've checked for audio updates and I have nothing to update. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Have you set the speaker as a default playback device? If you haven't, do this:

1. Open Control Panel.
2. Go to Sound -> Playback -> Click on "Speakers" and then "Set as default".
