Problems with Creating a Reserved Address for a Server

Before I get into the logic-defying problem I'm having, I just want to mention that I've tried everything I can possibly think of.

So basically, I'm trying to create a reserved address for my new server (A refurbished Dell PowerEdge 1950). I have an Xfinity modem, and I've created the reserved address within the console. The address is set to 10.0.0.50 as per the address range of the modem. But when I go to set the preferred address on the server (The server is running Windows Server 2012, up to date), the address 10.0.0.50 does not give me an internet connection. The default gateway should be 10.0.0.1, and I have verified that on another desktop connected to the modem via DHCP.

Now the weird thing about this is, I managed to get a connection for a while by using the address 192.168.0.50 with a gateway of 192.168.1.1.

This makes no sense because for some reason, all of the wireless devices connected with DHCP have an address range starting with 10, but all of the wired devices using DHCP have an address range of 192. Also, the gateway address I used doesn't even correspond with the actual gateway.

So far I have tried using both 10 and 192 ranges, setting the DNS to automatic (Although this does nothing as the server is currently a domain controller and acts as its own DNS server), and using alternate settings.

I am happy to answer any questions or link screenshots if needed.
