What's better for an Athlon 860k - gtx1050 or rx460?

Hi all,

I have an AMD Athlon 860k at stock speed with 8Gb of 1866 DDR3 ram, and no intention of upgrading cpu/mb/ram for at least another year or so.

I purchased Mass Effect Andromeda and The Witcher 3 and it's quite obvious that my Radeon HD7750 1Gb (equal to an R7 250) just can't keep up.

Having an Eizo 4:3 1280x1024 DVI monitor (which cost me A LOT of money back then), I'd like to know if I could improve the overall gaming experience by upgrading to a GTX1050 or an RX460.

I'm quite aware that my CPU is not the greatest, but I could run Fallout 4 at 720p just fine and that's the resolution I'm going after.

Other than those couple of games, my pc suits me fine for the moment, so I'd like to keep it as it is, as long as possible.

Thank you all.

I would say if you have the budget go with a GTX 1050Ti and G4560/G4600. I'd your budget is lower than that, go for a GTX 1050 with either processor. Yes, you'll have to get a new mobo, but it'll be a massive upgrade over your X4 860K. And the RX 560 is also a good choice for a graphics card. Get the 4GB version though.
