Overclocking MSI GTX 1050TI

Every processor (CPU or GPU) is different; no two are ever the same in terms of their capabilities. Since my experience with the memory overclocking usually causes instability first, start with the GPU core frequency only, then move on to the memory. Games also play an important role in providing results. Every game is different, and thus some games may seem perfect while others will have artifacts (glitches, color changes, etc in the graphics). I usually use Unigine Heaven Benchmark for my overclock tests, but sometimes things play perfectly here and then actual games like GTA V will begin to have artifacts (usually purple/green flashing or purple apperances in random graphics). A great game to test your overclock with is The Witcher 3. It hates overclocks and will usually crash on you or give you some sort of "has stopped working" error. This can be within the first few minutes of gaming, or even hours, so it is best to test it when you have time.

By the way, you have an MSI GTX 1050 Ti. The MSI Gaming App should be compatible and if I am not mistaking will auto overclock you as needed whilst playing a game depending on how well your temperature headroom is. You will especially notice this in games with heavy grass such as Fallout, GTA V, Ghost Recon Wildlands and so on, but it isn't just limited to intense grass. If you would like to see it in action, you can use MSI Afterburner and it's RiveraTuner Statistic's on-screen display. Alternatively, if you aren't familiar with MSI Afterburner and RiveraTuner Statistics, you can use NZXT's cam software which will have an on-screen display for you after you finish installing it (no need to configure it).

I have tested the MSI GTX 1070, 1080 and 1080 Ti and all of these will boost well above their advertised Boost clock frequencies when the temperatures are doing excellent (usually the case with MSI thanks to their excellent coolijg system), so I would expect their 1050 Ti to function similarly.

LASTLY, the MSI Gaming App has three modes: Overclock, Gaming and Silent mode. While Gaming will still auto overclock itself, Overclock mode just does it more frequently.
