Hey guys, just got myself NZXT Kraken x62, after setting everything up and OC at 1.25V for 4.4ghz (didnt win the lottery sadly) one of my cores is running at 65-70 celsius while core 2,3 is around 63 and core 4 is 55. I tried reseating, using diff thermal paste but only thing that changed is core 1 from 70 to 65-68. Any idea why this is happening? CPU is i5 4690K about 3 years old. Cores 2,3 stay at that 62-65 max and core 4 is 54-58 max when using prime 95 26.6

Solution
If you have prebuild set its possible that uneven paste dried from one side.
I had same problem after 6 months, on 6700. After taking down the cooler ( I bought new one thinking old is to weak) I found that paste was on 75% of IHS and clearly 1 corner was not covered.
Try replacing paste, if stays delid and replace whats under IHS

I had to reseat the whole backplate and use the line method for applying thermal paste and temps are below 70 with my 4.3ghz 1.24V OC, the paste i have is bad + old cpu that could use delidding but i will be upgrading soon enough anyway.
