Hello,

Lately my PC started to shutdown when it is under heavy load, I had this problem like a month ago but I cleaned my case with compressed air and it worked fine, but I feel like the problem is somewhere else because I shouldn't be getting to 80C even with dust and there is almost no dust at all on the fan or the heatsink.

CPU- AMD FX-8350 VISHERA
(Fan)CPU Cooler - ARCTIC Freezer 7 PRO Rev.2
Motherboard - ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0

The fan on my cpu is not stock and I haven't overclocked my cpu. The tempeture goes above 70 after 10-15 minutes ingame ofc it depends on the game.

http://imgur.com/a/3MawF - a screenshot after playing a Rainbow six siege for 30 minutes you can see that max tempeture is over 80C I was lucky to quit the game before it would shutdown whole PC.

I never had these overheating problems before and I did a lot of cpu heavy stuff before like video rendering etc.

I would really appreciate any help with this :) thanks

Best guess your thermal paste on your cooler has dried out and now isn't working well.. you say the fan on the cooler isn't stock. Is the cooler itself stock? What are you using? I'm guessing a cpu cooler Upgrade is in order

I meant that the cooler is not stock as well as I said it is ARCTIC Freezer 7 PRO Rev.2
And yes the thermal paste might have worn out

Here is a link to that cooler that I have installed on my CPU - https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186134&cm_re=ARCTIC_Freezer_7_PRO_Rev.2-_-35-186-134-_-Product

Ok I will try to change that paste tomorrow, hopefully it will do something :)

One more thing, any idea what should I do with this? https://youtu.be/nOGkusw1Wl0 it happens like 5 out of 10 bootups at start the fan speed goes crazy but it calms down after like 2-4 minutes

So I cleaned the whole PC with compressed air, cleaned the old paste from cooler and cpu applied the new one carefully and here is the result (http://imgur.com/a/slj99) after the same game played for 30 minutes (I took the screenshot right after closing the game)

I am wondering if its enough 7C difference? and for how long it will stay like this ?

And one more think, I have noticed that my cooler heatsink is smaller than my CPU so it doesn't cover the whole size of the cpu but it's compatible with my CPU so I don't know if it's normal or not

They usually don't cover the entire ihs. So that's normal and a 7C drop from new paste is pretty decent. As I mentioned at the beginning that cooler really isn't designed for a cpu that runs that warm. Those temps are tollerable especially if you have any mind to upgrade soonish. If not you might want a bit better cooler. Something like a cryorig h7 or h5 would be solid not overly expensive choices

Well I was thinking about an upgrade but upgrade means that I would have to buy a new CPU and I would go with the new ryzen series which also means that I need a new motherboard and probably even a new DDR4 RAMs it's like buying entire PC only the GPU stays but I wanted to upgrade it too :D
I was looking at some new coolers that could help, what do you think about "Thermaltake Riing Silent 12 Pro Blue" is that comparable to cryorig h7 or h5?
