a $700 gaming PC or a $3000 one?

Solution

It's the GPU that's the problem - they are going to start coming back in stock now that the Etherum gold mine craze is crashing and starting to come to a close. Plus the new 2XXX cards are going to be out soon, so just give it some time.

Ya know for 3000$ you can get a ps4 pro + nintendo switch + xbox one + a pc that will do ultra at 1080p 60fps and still have money left.

Why such a big leap?

Getting a better PC than the one I posted is next to impossible as any GPUs other than 1050 [TI] and 1080 TI are non-existent here.

You do realize that PS4 Pro is a waste of money with 1080p@60Hz TV, right?
I hate consoles, generally. Getting an XBOX One with a PC is pointless (everything on XBOX One is on PC, except Halo). And I am not planning to use the TV with the PC — I am planning to get at least 1440p monitor, if not 4K.

I'd say build a $2K one and then pocket the rest. You could do something like this:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 7 1700X 3.4GHz 8-Core Processor ($323.30 @ Amazon)
CPU Cooler: NZXT - Kraken X62 Rev 2 98.2 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($147.20 @ NCIX US)
Motherboard: Asus - STRIX X370-F GAMING ATX AM4 Motherboard ($174.89 @ OutletPC)
Memory: G.Skill - Trident Z RGB 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($155.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung - 960 EVO 250GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($127.88 @ OutletPC)
Storage: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($47.88 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: MSI - GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB LIGHTNING Z Video Card ($880.90 @ B&H)
Case: NZXT - S340 Elite (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($94.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: EVGA - SuperNOVA G2 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($113.89 @ OutletPC)
Total: $2066.92
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

CPU: There are no Ryzen processors in here;
CPU Cooler: Only Thermaltake liquid coolers are available;
Memory: There are no 3200 MHz RAMs available;
GPU: Only Gigabyte AORUS GTX 1080 TIs available at a price of USD$1,100;
Case: NZXT Phantom 820, and NZXT S340 are the only two cases available.

That's my problem here — it's either a $700-$800 PC or a $3,000-$4,000 one; there is no in-between.
