Hi,

In 3 weeks I will be moving to another country and with me I will obviously take my Nice Gaming rig. It's self built (from someone else because I bought it off the internet). I messaged the builder and he said that I just need to take out the graphic card and put it in an anti-static wrapping of some sort. My question is how exactly do I do this? I am a gaming enthusiast but I am in no means an expert in PC hardware... Could someone explain it to me? And is there something else I should watch out or take out of the PC because It will be shipped overseas. Last but not least, once reassembled: does it work the same way or will it force me to reinstall all drivers etc? I just want to make sure I don't break my 1300 gaming pc! :)

Thanks in advance,

Julius

Solution
It all depends on what you have.
After you have shut down the PC, pull the power cord out and wait a few minutes. Then make sure you ground yourself before touching anything inside the PC.
then take the side of the computer off and take a picture of everything, take a bunch of pics so you have that for reference should you forget how things go back together. Then do some YouTubing looking at videos of graphics card removal/replacement. You will probably see one that looks similar to yours. If you know which graphics card you have then search YouTube for a replacement guide.

But typically it is unplugging a power cable(s) on the card, then unscrewing the screw that holds it in place, then moving a tab on the motherboard and the card...

Take your time and don't force anything, some slight pressure might be needed but it should not resist much.
