Hello!
i am a live streamer and am planning on assembling a new computer.
Right now i've been stuck on 3 options them being : R7 1700 , i7 7700k and the R7 1700x listed from the lowest to highest costing Processors.
i wanted to know how good is the R7 1700 as i've seen a thread saying its equvalent to the i5 6600 ( which i think isn't really that good for gaming or streaming), is it true?
and also which CPU would be suitable for a GTX 1070 ( which i will be getting from a sponsorship) till then i might use the build with a GTX 970 ( that i own).
I would want to stream at 1080p 30/60 fps m with x264 Encoding.

Solution
I would get any of the two Ryzen processors because they have 8 cores and that will help a lot with streaming.
If you get the 1700 and overclock it, you'll probably have the performance of the 1700x, and if you overclock the 1700x, you'll have the performance of the 1800x.

I'd go with the 1700, it doesn't cost a lot and leaves you more money to spend on some future upgrade.

hope this helped :)

The best processor in that range for streaming without an overclock is the R7 1700X (R7 1700 with an overclock). The reason being is that regardless of the Ryzen 7 system having lower gaming performance it has enough free resources available to it to allow for an encode with minimal loss in performance for either task.

Now the best setup for streaming is obviously having a second system for streaming but for a single system setup the Ryzen 7 is the best unless you plan on going with a Threadripper for Skylake-X system.
