I have Windows 7 HP 64bit SP1 system. I've had and used my SSD for about 3 months and was very happy with it. But suddenly one day I could not install any program or windows update. I could not install any update from a program that I've had and could not install any programs I just downloaded. I have run a CMD chkdsk and all my windows files are genuine. I ended up having to switch over to my old hard drive and everything works fine on that hard drive. I have tried many solutions that I have found online and none seem to work, or they require me to download and install something for it, and obviously I can't do that. I do remember doing a disk cleanup on that SSD because I was running out of space. (before the issues started) If I have to download some tool, I would need it to work if I download and install on the hard drive that works, and fix the problems with the SSD. I have tried to contact Samsung but they told me in order to fix it they would have to wipe the drive. I do not want to do that. Any tips could help. Thank you.

Solution
Try creating a new user account with administrator rights and see if that one will allow you to install anything. If that does not work, trying a full new Windows setup may be a good idea.

I just used the basic windows disk cleanup, in explorer. I can't do a system restore for some reason.

You can try to do a repair setup of Windows using a Windows setup disk. What exactly happens when you try to install a program? Any error messages?

I've tried that as well, It won't finnish. All the install messages just say "unable to install, please try again" or variances of the sort. windows update gave me an generic error code too.
