Hello

I am currently going to underclock my corsair ddr4 3kMhz cl15-vengeance-lpx from 3000mhz to 2666. The reason for it is because i think Ryzen 7 1700 have problems with frequencies over 2666 (correct me if im wrong), but it does with my ram and it "bootloops" 3 times. Ive seen ppl having over 2666, but maybe its specific which ryzen cpu u have? or are my ram defect, but i dont think so though since they worked fine the first week i used them, since also my MOBO takes up to 3200Mhz OC.

Anyways, my thought is to downclock to 2666 because it loops, but i have 3 mainquestions before doing it.

Questions

■I have an XMP (D.O.C.P) profile for my "overclocked" ram at 2933Mhz with 1.35V. Stock volts i believe is 2133Mhz with 1.2V. Q: If i now would want to downclock from 2933 to 2666, would i need to change the DRAM 1.35V with just only about a 300mhz diff? If so, to what or is it a "testing thing" unique with the ram? because i was thinking: >1.35 but <1.30?
■If i now decide to downclock, would i need to change the timings? And if so, i have no exp in that, by how much, and + or -? :) OBS: i currently have 15-17-17-35 set to the profile (3k Mhz).
■When finally downclocking the ram, would i need to touch anything else (like the Soc volt, or anything closely related to it that would afect this certain action).

Thanks for helping, if i was unclear in anything or if you want specs just ask.

Solution
When using DOCP it sets everything memory wise to any XMP profile of the RAM. So, if you set DOCP to 2666, everything else will be set to XMP.
Anyway, what MB and BIOS version ? A lot of it hinges on that. Ryzen itself doesn't have problems with much faster RAM but BIOS can't always set it properly. BIOS with AGESA code 1.0.0.6 is practically required for good memory management.
