When I use Prime 95 V.26.6. I get 80c on 2 cores and the other 2 are 71-72 c. Why isn't the other 2 cores 70c as well? I use a h100i watercooler. This gives me a cpu temp of 80c

dipperftw,

What is your ambient temperature?

Have you tried manually decreasing Core voltage?

Is your 6700K running at stock with Turbo Boost enabled? If so, it's normal for Cores 0 & 1 to run warmer than Cores 2 & 3.

Intel’s specification for Digital Thermal Sensor (DTS) accuracy is +/- 5°C. This means deviations between the highest and lowest Cores can be up to 10°C. Deviations on processors using Turbo Boost might exceed 10°C by a few degrees.

Your 6700K is within Intel's specification, although barely.

You can try shifting/twisting the water block to reistribute thermal material ever so slightly, or even reapplying a slightly thinner thermal paste evenly, but, if that doesn't help, I'd suspect this will not be fixable without 'delidding'. If it's something inherent with that particular sample, the pattern should show with a conventional heatsink as well...

Do you intend to OC in the eternal search for 5 GHz, or, stay at stock clocks...?

If running stock, even as is, Prime95 normally gives +10-12C over a typical gaming load...meaning, you still have headroom before ever encountering throttling at approx 100C or so...

For now it's at stock setting but i'm gunna change core voltage to 1.345V. The idle temps for my cpu are 27-30.

Ambient temperature means room temperature, preferably close to your computer's air intake. Standard or normal ambient temperature is 22°C or 72°F.

At stock settings, the Core voltage only needs to be about 1.2 and may be stable as low as 1.15 volts, which will drop your Core temperatures quite significantly. 1.345 volts is typical when overclocked.

I remounted the pump a few times and I got 71-72 c at max load. Thanks m8 the 2 cores now have a 5c difference instead of 10c. Bout to overclock this thing to 4.6
