Did I get lucky or am I missing something here?

Technically its @ 4.49 but the CPU Vcore says .888 volts.

I run a stress test with temps getting to 80c but only at highest load. Idle temps are under 50 at 4.49mhz.

Is that normal with air cooled?

Of course he means GHz, and you know it.

To the OP: you have a nice CPU on your hands, apparently the silicon lottery liked you a lot. Note, however, that current situation might not always be the same, and that you will probably have to increase voltage in the future as the CPU ages. Not to mention that stress tests are not always the most reliable way to check for stability - you will have to test with real world apps and games, too.

Yes, but to be honest I think he's lying. 0.88 volts? Please.

Thats what I have heard for years. Some CPU's seem to run better than others? This is the first time I have actually messed with an unlocked CPU.

I do run FutureMark and it runs as smooth as hell now. FireStrike especially.

How can I post a picture of my desktop?

Yeah that's weird i was thinking that myself as well. But also i can't find any voltage similar to the current average (seems to be around 1.2v for 4.5ghz) on this program. So I'm looking at voltage from .888 to 1.0 which is still pretty low.

I'm going to see if i can find another voltage program or check the actual numbers in bios and see if they match. Also, I'll raise the voltage to see if it raises the ghz and remains stable.

Thanks for the info so far! I've been on lower end CPU my whole life while building fast gaming rigs for others so hopefully you're right and the lottery rewarded me after all these years of blood sweat and tears ;-)

Just ran CPUID and the voltage is 1.249...Sounds about right huh?

And I thought I got lucky :-(

Yeah. Doesn't matter the luck, you aren't going to pull 4.5ghz under 1.1 volts, regardless of the lottery. For the fab size, it's not physically possible. 0.88v was just completely ridiculous. It's like saying you have a minivan that goes 400 mpg. it would break entropic laws.
