I was wondering recently why my GPU was always hot on idle and found out the problem was that I had the power option on "maximum performance" since turning it down it's reduced heat by 20 degrees on idle but I was wondering when I should use maximum performance? The three options are maximum performance, adaptive and optimal power (default) I presume optimal power to be used when idle or on the internet but when playing games what setting would you use? Is there a noticeable difference between maximum power and adaptive/optimal power in games?

how about the temperature? if the temperature were not so high it is not a problem. if you get some performance difference when using those 2 power option you maybe wanna consider the configuration again
