Hello I just got back on my repaired semi-new high-end pc with a new gpu but msi afterburner says that my CPU is always 80-90 Celsius (hot af) however my gpu is 60 Celsius even in f.e.: PUBG, Black desert.

My gpu: MSI gtx 1060 6gb gaming x
My cpu: i7 4790k

any idea what should I do? :/
I have cooler III and my air-flow circulation was recently upgraded too.
Or is the afterburner display is bad(the temperatures jumping irrationally greatly(5-10 celsius jumps on display in seconds.)) My highest value was over 100 and if i know right in such temp. the pc should shut down.
p.s.: pc housing is hot
thx for answers

If the reason for taking in your PC was because of the CPU temp. then I'd take it back and get my money back. They've proven their incompetence. I wouldn't allow them the chance to prove it again. It's no different than having an ignition system replaced and getting it back from the shop with the same issue when I attempt to leave. It isn't hard to take a CPU's temperature. There are so many temperature monitors out there and they were too bleeping lazy to check. That really does offend reason. Please tell me they were repairing something else.

means the cpu cooler was installed incorrectly or is not good enough to keep up dissipating the heat

take it back and tell them to fix it

overheating cpu gives crap performance

The PC wont immediately shut down when it hits 100c, that is TJ max when the cpu will start to throttle lowering its clocks to stay cool. If it throttles and it still cant lower its temps then it will shutdown. 90c is pretty hot for gaming, assuming your cooler is adequate I agree with the above poster it likely wasn't mounted correctly.
