Ryzen 5 1600 with Rx 580 8gb or a i5 7500 with Rx580 8gb

I was wondering which cpu would pair best with the Rx580.
I am also getting a monitor and i was wondering whether to get a 60Hz freesync monitor or a 144hz freesync monitor. where i live those are the only two options of different refresh rate monitors. the games i will be playing is CSGO, Overwatch, pubg and sometimes some Triple A games. I wont be playing on Ultra settings most likely high or mid in order to get decent FPS.

If you can fit it in your budget, get a 144Hz Freesync.

Ryzen 5 1600 with a RX 580 is the better option for you.

Since your play first-person style games, I highly encourage you to go with a Freesync monitor if you can afford it. They're particularly well-suited for the games you play.

Another strong vote for the 1600. Plus, take a couple of minutes to watch a guide or two and tweak it to 3.9Ghz. See if you can get some decently fast RAM and spend another little while getting that as high as you can (closer to 3200 the better). Unbeatable value for money right now.

I would recommend the Ryzen because while Intel is somewhat better when it comes to strictly gaming the Ryzen gives you very similr performance while offering more cores and overclocking ability. Some games are utilising more than four cores and this will likely become more widespread in the future so the Ryzen is definitely the best move for the future.
