My power supply has been making these very loud grinding noises whenever it first starts up. The grinding noises can last up to 20 minutes, the noise is so loud I can hear it from a different floor in my house. Sometimes the noise wont happen for weeks and then it will startup again. My power supply is an EVGA Gigabyte Bronze 500w. Hope someone can help me with this issue.

Solution
If you are sure it is coming from the PSU, don't mess about, just replace it mate. Its not worth it to keep using it incase it is the fan bearings. If they become stuck, the fan stops and probably burns the motor out, all resulting in it going into thermal shut down, and if it does not, possible disasters for your other components attached to it. Be safe and swap it out!
