I was having some problems with my old system and decided to upgrade my mobo (9 years old) This also required me to also get new RAM and CPU. I've connected everything up and hitting the power button does nothing at all.

I thought it might be a problem with the new mobo so I reconnected everything from my old system. I hit the power button and now it still doesn't turn on (it did before) BUT if I press the power button that's on the mobo itself, it starts up normally. My new mobo doesn't have a power button that I can see.

I feel like I'm missing something obvious here. I've even upgraded my PSU and both pass the paper clip test. Did standard stuff like remove the RAM, disconnect unnecessary components, etc.

New mobo is MSI X370. Thanks.

Solution
it may be your Case power button is dead?
use your reset button as a power and see if that works?
you are getting power led on motherboard right?

The power LED does come on on my old MB when I turn on the PSU; I don't see one on my new MB.
I've tried swapping the reset/power cables and it didn't help. Also tried shorting the two pins with a screwdriver to get it to start.

you have already replaced the PSU then it must be the board has issue
