So, I got an older computer yesterday, and turned it on. Windows XP loaded than bluescreened. So I put in a Windows 8.1 DVD, and...Bluescreen in the DVD. Same with Windows 10 and 7. So, I tried Linux and that freezes as well. I have tried putting new RAM in and put another CPU compatible with the board, but to no luck. Please help

Might be other hardware like the motherboard or the hard drives that are causing the system failures. In my opinion an old computer with windows XP isn't worth enough to try to save from death. The hardware also isn't very optimised for a newer OS like Windows 8(.1) or W10

I replaced the drives, and if you are wondering it is a Core 2 Duo which is replacing my Athlon X64 old machine. I really wanna get it working, as I will probably be putting an SSD inside and giving it to my dad, who wants a basic PC for internet and email
