Recently I built a DIY wifi receiver booster and it worked but it gave me only 1 bar of signal. The hotspot i'm using is about 1.5km away from my house.
What should I do to get a full strength signal? Can I use a power rf amplifier? Is there any DIY method to make an amplifier? Can I get it from a radio?

Thanks in advance......

As USAFRet said, if you can't enhance both ends of the wireless link, then you won't be successful. IF you can put directional antennas at each end and have a clear line of sight then you have a chance. Otherwise, you are just wasting your time.

Your alternative is to buy internet service like the majority of the people do.

WiFi is a two way conversation.
Both ends need to yell equally as loud. If you don't have control over the other end...you're pretty much out of luck.
