Hey guys,

Looking for some advice on a mobo. I know there are a ton of people asking similar questions, but cannot find one specific to mine.

I am going to start with a Ryzen 1600, but will upgrade to a 1700 somewhere down the line, once things get more optimized for the additional cores and the need for it becomes larger.

I thought that I was done deciding on a mobo, the Asus Rog Strix B350-F, which gives me everything I was looking for. i.e. more than 1 RGB header, at least 3 fan headers, nvme above the graphics card, and the color scheme (trying to stay away from red, but not a deal breaker).

But, last night I stumbled on Buildzoids video about the b350 boards and discussions on VRMs and now I am not sure if this board would be sufficient to OC a 1700 later on. I am going to OC the 1600 for sure. His video, unfortunately, did not cover the Strix board, as it was not out when he made it.

I looked into x370 boards and ran into the ASRock Killler SLI/ac on sale for $135 plus a $20 mail-in rebate at Newegg. A pretty decent deal compared to the retail price.

I am not going to run SLI, nor do I really need the WiFi. The bluetooth is nice, but I do already have a BT dongle for my PS3 controller.

Which board would you recommend and why? Budget is a concern, so I would not get a Crosshair or alike. Any other thoughts on $130 or under mobos?

Thanks!
