Hi all,

This is a question about whether or not a particular mobo will fit in a particular case. I recently upgraded my mobo from a gigabyte B150M-DSH3 to a Gigabyte Z270MX Gaming 5 in order to support my new i5 7600k. My current pc case is this - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B01BLI516W/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1501705877&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=purple+pc+case

A pretty cheap/bad case, I know, please don't have a go at me xD. When installing my new motherboard, it was a very tight squeeze, with only millimetres to spare on the top, bottom and left hand side.

I am planning on upgrading my case to a Corsair Carbide Air 240 - a case that is praised for supporting micro-ATX size mobos in such a small space. My question, before purchasing, is will my motherboard actually fit in this new case? (Please no "It's micro ATX, of course it will fit", because I certainly had a struggle fitting this new mobo in my current case). I am just worrying that after such difficulty in fitting the new mobo in my current case, upgrading to an even smaller case may present issues.

Thank you for your time.

What can I say? It's a mATX case designed for mATX boards. I have one. It fits my mATX board just fine. But even your old case should have been no problem. So maybe you'll think the new case is hard to work in too?

Btw, your old case wasn't that bad. Typical main stream mATX case. Was the problem related to cable management? Because there should have been no issue with physically installing the board in that case.
