Assuming you don't need anything on there, I'd try to reformat it to a new NTFS partition via diskpart in CMD. You can also use disk management. (Google these if you do not know them)

OR Let's say you actually need whatsoever is on there it's possible that the HDD is damaged just bear that in mind.

Is it IDE or Sata?
