Hello, as a title says I would want to buy a new card.

I am not sure what's the best card for my specs:

  • ■ PSU: Hexa+ 400W
    ■ CPU: AMD FX-6300
    ■ Motherboard: GA-970A-DS3P
    ■ 10GB DDR2 RAM (2x4gb, 1x2gb)
    ■ current GPU: Nvidia GT 240
    ■ Monitor: LCD 20inch VGA

On some forums they recommend 1050TI, on other RX 460. My budget is really tight, about 120/130€ max.

Thanks.

PS: I know the PSU wattage is pretty low and I should buy new one, but the budget is really tight and PSU calculator calculated 305W With 1050TI so I guess it is not necessery right now.

Rx 560 4gb
Gtx 1050ti 4gb

They're in order for weakest to strongest imo.

& no there's no benefit to pairing amd with amd or nvidia with amd etc.

Pick the best card you can afford from the list.
They're all huge upgrades over what you're currently using anyway

The hexa+ is honestly not that bad a PSU either BTW.

What are your expectations for the upgrade? I see you have the gt 240, that's a really low end card. Even a gt 1030 would be a huge jump. If you plan to game at 720p both the 1030 and 1050 would be fine. If you want 1080p the 1050ti would be your starting point, but anything over that and you will want a psu/CPU upgrade. The 460 is a great card as well, but I wouldn't run it on a 400w psu. Running your psu close to max decreases it's life and makes it unstable

Gaming (and web development, but I guess I have already good pc for that).I want to run new small studios games like The forest, The long dark, Rust, maybe Dark souls.. like I mean I don't expect running AAA games. The performace I would be happy for stable 40+fps, lowest graphics if needed, i dont really care after those years with this card - I am used to play on lower resolutions so thats no problem. Responsive controls would be great too, its not nice waiting for my mouse in inventory after moving the mouse.

So you recommend nvidia. Can I ask if 1050ti 4gb 1fan would be overkill? 1050/2gb is enough?

I don't mind buying new PSU later but now I can't. How long do you think this one will last? Tho. 1050 has almost same power usage as 240 - so 100W reserve is not enough?

Can I ask you which one would you choose if It was for you ? The guy above recommends Nvidia because of the PSU but you said AMD one is okay. Would the AMD gpu pair with my AMD-build better than Nvidia ?
