So even though I passed my Computer Tech class in college there are still some things I was never shown and never learned throughout my time there. One in question is overclocking, I have overclocked a very little about a year ago. I had an AMD processor and overclocked it from 3.8ghz to 4.2ghz in the Bios settings. Now my current motherboard (Intel DQ35JOE) doesn't have a option for it because the motherboard does not support overclocking or something along those lines. But my processor that I am getting today (after a long awaited 6 days) can be overclocked (not sure by how much). It's a Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83ghz processor. I'll leave my specs below just in-case anyone needs them, it'll speed up the response process. My question is, how do I overclock the Q9550 when my motherboard doesn't have an option? I have MSI Afterburner but that doesn't seem to be doing a thing for my GPU and RAM right now. I have it set at +65 Core Clock and +120 Memory Clock, this has actually decreased my score and minimum FPS in Valley Benchmark so I doubt I will keep it this way. I have been monitoring the temps for the GPU, HDD, CPU, and Motherboard itself. All run below 60c, my CPU use to run 80c but I bought a new aftermarket LED CPU Cooler and it is doing the job VERY well and looking extremely cool while doing it.

SPECS:

OS - Windows 7 Home Basic 64-bit SP1
HDD - 1TB Western Digital WDC (currently running 35c)
MotherBoard - Intel DQ35JOE (J1PR)
RAM - 8GB DDR2 398Mhz (6-6-6-18)
CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.00ghz (remember I'm replacing, running 39c)
GPU - PNY Nvidia GT 1030 2GB (currently running 30c)
PSU - Insignia 400w

If there's any confusion about the "30c/35c" text, it means 30 degrees Celsius.

The CPU has been doing great, running at 49-51c under pressure with GTA V. Still have not found a overclocking guide between them using MSI Afterburner or using the BIOS settings. Don't have BIOS settings to overclock and MSI Afterburner makes my computer run like trash. Any other way to proof overclock my CPU so I don't have to change it back to whatever ghz it is when I over clock it every time I turn my computer on?

I tried to overclock with MSI but it for some reason makes my computer run terrible, I don't know if I have the right settings or not.
I paid $26 for the CPU off Ebay and I live in Minnesota/USA. The CPU runs perfect and it looks like it wasn't used when it got here. No flaws yet and has been under heavy load for 2 days non-stop running with GTA V. (they got double xp/cash, gotta grind)

And I noticed it was for GPU after I looked it up cause it seemed weird to me. I tried CPUCool but that didn't do a thing and I didn't wanna mess around with anything and destroy my computer.
